Economic Standpoint

Even though billions of dollars go into caring for unwed teenage mothers, there are millions of dollars being spent on ways to prevent the teenagers from becoming pregnant in the first place, at such young ages. There are several community and government sponsored programs that provide information to upcoming teens about the consequences of teenage pregnancy, and the impositions a child can be on their lives and the plans they have for the future. The methods seem to be working because the abortion rates dropped 50% in 2002 and is still dropping, and pregnancy has dropped 40%since the year 2002 and the rates are still dropping. The programs are there to help kids becoming adolescents acquire the necessary knowledge concerning sex and it;s consequences, and promote both abstinence and safe sex, because everyone knows the best birth control is abstinence. The teenage birth rate over the last 60 years has dropped to a dramatic low from a whopping 78% climb, and statistics show it is due to the preventive methods society has taken in educating teens about the consequences of unprotected sex.
